Monastery: Something new adorned with something ancient. Next week we'll be introducing our new towel with our Athena coin logo by giving it away with any kit purchase. The Athena coin that we use in our design throughout Monastery was actually modeled after my mom's gold Athena coin necklace that she wore when I was growing up.
When I think about her wearing it, I think about her being young and beautiful. I was always watching and learning from my mom and her beauty rituals. Athena was my mom's grandmother so when I would ask her about the coin she would tell me old stories of her yiayia in Greece. The coin represents a whole lineage of women from my family and the Sage Cleansing Oil is the product that reminds me most of them, specifically the bathing oils they would use and make.
The towel and the Sage make a perfect pair for a cleansing ritual. I love applying the Sage directly to my face and use the damp warm towel to remove it while taking a nice deep breath. When I close my eyes I could be in Greece.
